2010 Employment
(Orrum crime rate indexes, 2010).
CLR search.com gave this chart to the left which shows the employment rate between Robeson County, North Carolina and the United States. As you can tell, Robeson County is lower than both North Carolina and the United States regarding employment with civilian males and females. However, Robeson county is higher regarding unemployed males and females. Also, Robeson county has more "not in labor" males and females. This chart gives an excellent example of comparing the lower rate of employment Robeson County has to all of North Carolina and the United States.
Several Lumbee Indians struggle to make enough income for their families and the statistics of Robeson County’s economy is proof. In 2010, the median household income was only $35,806 states (Thrive in North Carolina, 2011). Once compared to Mecklenburg County, the difference is shocking. According to (Thrive in North Carolina, 2011), in 2010, Mecklenburg County’s median household $66,472. That is about a little more than double of Robeson County’s median household income. Especially with our economy as a country being extremely low, I can only imagine that Robeson County is way below what is expected of a County. If given the full federally benefits of becoming recognized as a tribe, Robeson County would prosper tremendously. How could the federal government possibly think the Lumbee Indians are not a tribe for these individuals to suffer as they do today?
